Child-Led Prayer and Liturgy
And so I say to you: ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For all those who ask will receive, and those who seek will find, and the door will be opened to anyone who knocks.
Luke 11:9-10
Each one of our children at St Bartholomew's learns that they are loved by God and that they are special and have dignity in His sight. Our children are given opportunities to lead their own prayer and liturgy where they use scripture and prayer to build a friendship with Jesus who always listens to them.
This may consist of spontaneous petition, planned and prepared class liturgy or during assemblies, or through composing and writing prayers they read for all to join them.
Children are taught about prayers of praise, petition, intercession and thanksgiving and that there are many ways we can speak to and listen to God including through music and song.
